Castle Black

Shadow had been my only friend.
Here in my palace, I attend
A party to darkness’ descent.
Late one evening as I lament,
Lilts a voice I can’t comprehend.
It chants out hymns of song and lyre,
Calling to me by name and “sire!”
Oh, there she was, like sudden fire
Making embers into the pyre!
Penetrating gold all around,
